Fidelius Insurance Services Ltd acquires Ottery Insurance Services

We are delighted to announce the acquisition of Ottery Insurance Services of Ottery St Mary, Devon, as part of ambitious plans to grow our business in the south west.

Ottery Insurance Services is one of the most respected general insurance brokers in Devon, currently placing around £2.4 million in annual premiums.    Matt Sanders, the managing director of Fidelius, said: ‘Ottery Insurance Services is a very successful broker with an impressive client list, excellent staff and we are delighted to have completed the deal. Clients will benefit from the enhanced service and competitive pricing we can deliver from the larger group as we strengthen our presence in the region.’

Sahara Trek 2010 - Sposored Walk

Following Matt Sanders successful India Charitable Challenge in November 2009 I have agreed to accept the Directors challenge for 2010 by taking part in a 94KM Trek for the Children of Morocco which will take place in the awe-inspiring landscape of the Sahara Desert.         

                                                                                          

The arduous trekking route is designed to take in as much of the desert’s beautiful

and varied scenery as possible, from huge sand dunes to climb, to arid boulder-

strewn plains. I will be walking well away from the established routes and along a

trade route that is still used by the nomadic Berber and Toureg tribesmen, whom

we hope to encounter along the way.

This will be a great physical challenge for me but at the same time I will be able to

raise funds for UNICEF and learn more about their work in Morocco.

Karma Enduro 2009

Matt Sanders (Managing Director) took part in Karamenduro 2009 on behalf of Unicef & The Rainbow Childrens Trust and raised £18,000.                                                                                                                                               

We made it!!

In our 37 horse power Hindustan Ambassador, we travelled 2,000 kilometres from Goa to Cochin through southern India’s stunning jungles, mountains and deserts. The trip was amazing and exceeded both our expectations and really did test us both mentally and physically. We quite often drove for over 12 hours per day in temperatures of 95 degrees plus and had several near misses with Cows, buses, trucks & cratered roads. Driving in India is not for the faint hearted and it is an experience we would certainly recommend. Southern India is a truly beautiful place and the memories of our journey will stay with us forever. The local people we encountered throughout our journey were some of the friendliest, happiest and most generous we have ever had the pleasure of meeting. The lives they lead and the conditions the majority live in are far removed from what we take for granted. A large dose of perspective was administered to us all!!

 

Both John & I would like to say a huge thank you to all of our

sponsors for making this trip possible and helping us to raise

£18,000. The total amount raised for UNICEF & The Rainbow

Children’s Trust from all participants was £125,000 and is still

rising. We feel very honoured and proud to have taken part in

such an amazing and humbling experience.
